I am sure there was a good reason why they repainted the lines so that they are no longer aligned to one another.
- Maybe it keeps people from pulling forward and accidentally knocking off someone else’s side-view mirror.
- Maybe they are creating a mental scenario where drivers are forced to park in a more staggered pattern, therefore having to reconsider the way they pull in and back out of a spot.
- Maybe they were getting a lot of reports where people were backing in to other people’s bumpers at a certain angle, and somehow this solves some sort of popular damage scenario. (This would be an interesting thing to follow up on.)
- Maybe they decided to jazz things up a bit.
